Be prepared to hear from Dewey’s lawyer and his FBI friend Nick… and the DA.

Let ‘em come…though I think the DA would be more interested in the
plant that *might* be cultivating in my closet, then some obscure BC3K
    site.. =P

Providing a sane environment, you are a good guy, Shingen. I wish you and
    your forum the best.

I registered for your forums, but then I noticed the "no trolls allowed"
    provision.

    Cool.  Keep us informed, eh?

Ok, I took "no trolls allowed" as so much flame-bait, and signed up
    anyway.  But then I read:

"You agree not to post any abusive, obscene, vulgar, slanderous,
hateful, threatening, sexually-oriented or any other material that may
violate any applicable laws. Doing so may lead to you being
immediately and permanently banned (and your service provider being
    informed)."

You’d probably better ban me now and get it over with.

Sorry, I guess we define "troll" differently. I was thinking of
someone else. Not eloquent dissenters such as yourself. Hell, what’s
the pont of having an indie site if you can’t have an indie
    point-of-view.

Also I need to go in and change that TOS thing. I over looked that.
Thanks. The whole point of the site is to get away from the 3000AD
tranny and bring a little "truth in BC’ to the general space-sim
    gaming public.

I had the whole thing set up to run under phpnuke, and it was working
great on my HDD, but as Murphy’s Law would have it, once I uploaded
the damn thing to server, everything went to shit.

Well, at least the forum worked. Anyway..back to the grindstone.

    Shin,

I visited your forums and read the following conversation:

    > phpBB : Critical Error

I’m not positive, but I’m pretty sure "SQL Error" is a troll.  It might
even be Huffman.  If I’m right, how many Toadie Points do I get for
    reporting him?

Implementing SQL Errors is one of my favorite tasks.

Shingen, if you run out of SQL errors please let me know and I can write you
a correlated subquery error that will knock your socks off.

I had to take that sub-domain down. That forum was using phpbb2, but
once I uploaded phpnuke, the whole thing went to shit.

Anyone know anything about PHP and/or phpnuke, and why a php page
would load as a blank white page?

The server supports PHP, mysql4 and I think the server is running
Apache2. All the tables in the database are right, and the config.php
file is set to the database, but it still loads as a blank white page.

Is there something I’m missing here? Why would phpBB2 work and not
    phpnuke?

I had Apache2, PHP, MySql4 and phpnuke all working on a localhost
server, but on this stupid online server, it’s all screwed up! =(

I don’t really know much about any of that stuff, but it is my studied
opinion that you should stick with phpbb2.  Not only is it fun to

I tried that drupal program, but same problem. All *.php files display
    as empty, white pages.

This may be a silly question, but does the online server actually
    support php?

try putting in a page called something like test.php in your webroot[1]
there, with the following in it

    <?php
    phpinfo();
    ?>
    <p>some dumb text</p>

If the page shows up with reams of info on the setup and installed
extensions for php then php is working fine.[2]

If the some dumb text is visible at the top of the page, then php isn’t
running, and if nothing comes up at all, then start screaming at someone,
    because somethings fucked somewhere. ;)

[1] or /var/www or htdocs, or whatever it is called on that system,
whereever you put the frontpage of the site.

[2] the html should be at the bottom of the page somewhere, and if it
shows up above the fold then you have a stupidly big monitor, and a daft
    reolution ;)

The most likely problem is your database is fuxored[*].

But you could try asking for help in the drupal forums, on
    http://drupal.org

Make sure you ask in the right way though:
