Are there any games where you can take out planets? Or nuke them?

I was watching the last episode of Lexx Season 3 last night in which
the Lexx blows both the planets of Fire and Water (which turn out to
be hell and heaven respectively) – and I was wondering if there are
any space sim games, apart from BC3000AD in which you could nuke a
planet, in which you can actually destroy whole planets. Preferably
at will, not just as part of the plot.

Whoops, I mean ‘blows up’ not ‘blows’ – that suggest an entirely
    different program.

Didn’t you know that BC3 contains the revolunatary oral gratification
    AI? :)

Only one I can think of in the space sim catagory is Wing Commander 3
where you can drop the bomb on Kilrah.

It IS part of the plot but you get to blow up a star (and then the plannets
that get taken with it) in X-Com Interceptor.  Can’t think of any space sims
where you can do it freely though.

If the Babylon 5 space sim saw the light of day, it probably would have
    planet killers. =/

This is true, but it’s not exactly a space-sim… ;)
